Sa Caleta is an attractive cove with several beaches and backed by low, sandstone cliffs. Once a busy fishing port, it was colonised about 650 BC by the Phoenicians. Several hundred people settled here but after about fifty years they abandoned the site and moved to Eivissa. The beach has good swimming and there are refreshments available nearby. On the far side of the western headland is the popular, stony beach of Cala Jondal.
