The Cristina Enea Park is the largest of San Sebastian`s many parks and it was given to the city by the owner Duke of Mandras in 1917. Previously, in the 19th Century, it had been a meeting place for politicians. One of the conditions of the donation was that none of the park`s many trees should be felled. The park has many species of trees, including cedar, gingko, giant sequoia, chestnut, plane, elm and magnolia. Other attractions are peacocks, swans and a children`s playground.
