Hermitage of Our Lady of Cura
Puig de Randa, Randa, Mallorca Island - Spain

Map
Santuari de Nostra Senyora de Cura stands on the summit of the 1800 feet high mountain Puig de Randa. The hermitage was founded in the 13th Century by Ramon Llull. Born of a noble family, he became a monk when he was thirty years old. Missionaries were trained here before being sent to Asia and Africa. Most of the monastery is modern but the gate in the surrounding wall and the chapel are 17th Century. There is also a museum and a restaurant. From the mountain are glorious views of most of Mallorca.
