The Museo de Terra Santa is housed in one of the cloisters of the Convent of San Francisco, which was founded in 1214. The exhibits on display are from, or about, the Holy Land and some are from as far back as the Paleolithic era. Roman, Byzantine and later periods are represented and there is a collection of coins from the time of Alexandra the Great to the present day. One section is devoted to the Holy Land Today, and there are also models of historical and present day buildings.
