This large, majestic, red church dominates the Plaza del Salvador. Built on the site of a former mosque, it is in the baroque style and it was completed in 1712. On the northern side, a part of a Moorish patio remains. The nave was designed by Jose Granadas, who was the architect of Granada cathedral. The church contains fine baroque altarpieces, and a 17th Century statue of Jesus of the Passion is in the Sacramental Chapel.
