The Kursaal Congress Palace and Auditorium are two impressive glass structures designed by architect Rafael Moneo. Built to harmonize with the river mouth, sea and hills, they look especially stunning at sunset and when lit up at night. Opened in 1999, the buildings have won an award for contemporary architecture. The Kursaal hosts concerts and conventions and there is an exhibition gallery and a cafe-retaurant.
