The Palacio del Marques de Salvatierra is a large mansion with an 18th Century facade. Many houses had to be knocked down to create space for it to be built. On its portal are carvings of native South American Indians. The owners of the palace were descendants of the Marques de Moctezuma, a Governor in South America. Recently restored, the building with its old furnishings is sometimes open to the public.
