The Museo Mateo Hernandez is located in the old Church of San Gil which has been restored and changed into a museum. The museum was inaugurated in 1996 and here you will find a collection of sculptures known as talla directa by Mateo Hernandez. There are about fifty pieces by this sculptor and on display are several sculptures by Francisco Gonzaez Macias. Also represented are works by Mariano Amaga.
