Located between the La Concha and Ondarreta beaches, Miramar Park is a popular place for relaxation with its many species of trees, flowerbeds, paths and views. Here is the Miramar Palace, built in 1889 in the English cottage style by the Basque architect Jose Goicoa. He was influenced by the designs of British architect Selden Wornum. The palace was built as a summer residence for Queen Maria Cristina, whose statue can be seen at the far end of Ondarreta Beach.
