Situated outside the city walls, En Parral was long famous for its woods and gardens. Juan Pacheo, Marquis of Villena, is said to have killed three men here in duels. The monastery was founded in the 15th Century, but the facade of the church was never finished. It has a Gothic nave with carved doors. There is a 16th Century altarpiece by Juan Rodriguez, and tombs of the Marquis and Marchioness of Villena.
