On the far side of the River Duero are the remains of the Monastery of San Juan de Duero. The monastery was founded by the Order of the Knights Hospitaller of Jerusalem in the 13th Century. The partly ruined cloister has beautiful, decorated interlacing arches displaying the influence of Romanesque, Arabic and Mudejar designs. Inside the 12th Century church, at the apse entrance, are two small chambers with capitals.
