Castillo de Monteagudo de las Vicarias stands on the side of a hill in a fortified village. The fortress dates from the 15th Century when it was built by Juan Hurtado de Mendoza. It has a pentagonal shape with buttressed towers at its corners and an octagonal tower of homage. The castle is well preserved and it can be visited by making arrangements with the town hall.
