This musem is housed in a 16th Century fortress that was built to defend against pirate attacks. It has an interesting exhibition about the history of Santa Pola. The themes cover prehistoric and Roman times as well as topics such as the many fortifications along the coast. Fishing is also covered and obtaining salt from the sea. There are many objects on display such as household items, jewellery and mosaics. The museum has an audio-visual room.
