The Municipal Museum is in the old town and it is housed in a 14th Century building which was the old Governor`s house. There is an archaeology section with finds ranging from prehistoric times until the Middle Ages. Of special interest is the Roman mosaic. The museum has a good modern art collection. From the end of the 19th Century many artists have been attracted to Tossa becaue of its beautiful landscape. Amongst the collection is The Celestial Violinist by Marc Chagall.
