The Museo de Santa Cruz is housed in a 16th Century Renaissance hospital that has a splendid Plateresque facade. Other interesting features are the cloister and staircase. The hospital`s wards are now a fine arts museum. The collection contains many medieval and Renaissance sculptures, tapestries and paintings, and there are several works by El Greco, including the The Assumption, created in 1613. Amongst the other items on display are Toledan armour and swords.
