The Museu Marciel is housed in a former 14th Century hospital, which was purchased by the American collector Charles Deering at the end of the 19th Century. After the building was renovated, he had another built in the same style. It is known as the Palau Marciel de Terra and the two are linked by a footbridge. The museum contains an eclectic mix of furniture, paintings, wooden religious sculptures, statues, ceramics, porcelain and model sailing boats.
