The Museum of Nature and Man is in a neo-classical building that was once a hospital. The exhibits cover archaeology, anthropology and the natural sciences of the Canary Islands. There are displays about African and pre-Columbian art. Some of the most interesting displays are those concerning the Guanchos who lived in caves on Tenerife before the arrival of the 15th Century explorers. Exhibits include a section on the preservation of the dead as well as pottery and tools.
