The Museum of Sacred Art is housed in the Monastery of San Paio de Antealtares, located near the Plaza de Quintana. The Benedictine monastery was founded in the 9th Century after the discovery of St James` tomb on this spot. You can see the ancient altar that was erected above his tomb and medieval sculptures and paintings. Other exhibits include religious ornaments and gold and silver items.
