Playa de la Zurriola faces the open sea and as it is unsheltered the beach is ideal for surfing. The next beach along is Playa de Gros. A promenade runs alongside them and there are may bars and surfing shops. Nearby stands the stunning glass Kursaal Palace and Auditorium. From the far eastern end of the beach a climb can be made of the hill Monte Ulia, from where there are panoramic views of San Sebastian.
