The Port of Santa Ponca was formerly a fishing village but it is now a popular resort with a yacht marina. It is in a beautiful setting with lovely, white sand beaches and safe bathing. Jaume 1, who conquered the island, came ashore here with his army when he retook the island from the Moors in 1229. A large cross above the marina records the event.
