The River Chalan Beach is a recreational area a few miles out of Santiago De Compostela. Pleasant walks can be taken along the riverside and across wooden bridges to small islands. There are picnic tables and areas with plenty of shade. You can also take refreshments in a small cafe. There are opportunities for volleyball. This is a good place for birdwatching and fishing is popular here.
