S`Agaro is situated on a headland near Sant Feliu de Guixols. The village was built in the 1920s when the industrialist Josep Ensesa Gubert commissioned the achitect Rafael Maso who was a student of Gaudi. There are many fine Modernista buildings and a Neo-baroque church. Many film stars, including Charlie Chaplin, Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra, have stayed in its famous hotel, the Hostal de La Gavina. The Cami de Ronda leads to the beautiful beach Platja Sa Conca.
