Sallent De Gallego is a stone village situated beside the River Gallego in the Pyrennes. The skiing pistes of Formigal are just a few kilometres away and there are numerous walks into the mountains, including the Inferno peaks and the Circa de Piedrafita as well as easier walks. The village has a 16th Century Gothic church and an attractive main square. The Southern Pyrennes Music Festival takes place nearby every year at the Lanuza Reservoir.
