A shady, poplar lined path beside the River Duero leads to San Saturio Hermitage. The chapel perches on a rock above the cave where the anchorite and patron saint of Soria chose to live. The octagonal building was built in the 18th Century and inside are frescoes by Antonio Zapata, an artist from Soria. There is also a baroque altar. The lovely route beside the river is said to have been a favourite walk of the poet Antonio Machado.
