The Monasterio de Sant Cugat del Valles was established by Benedictine monks in medieval times. The church contains Romanesque and Gothic features. The oldest part is the 11th Century belfry while the facade was completed in the mid 14th Century. The church has three apses and the cloisters are some of the largest in Catalonia. They are in the Romanesque style with beautiful capitals of birds and biblical scenes.
