The village of Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera is situated in the middle of the island and is popular with artists. In its centre is the pleasant square Placa de la Iglesia. Here stands the Church of Santa Gertrudis which has an interesting interior with sculptural decorations of fruit. There are several craft shops and bars. An annual fiesta, including an exhibition of animals, takes place in the month of November.
