The massive, Gothic Cathedral of Segovia dates from the 16th Century when it was built to replace an earlier building that had burned to the ground. It was designed by architect Juan Gil de Hantanon and his son Rodrigo. Their tombs lie in the cloister. Inside the cathedral is a high altar by Sabatini and many beautiful chapels. You can see a fine sculpture by Juan de Juni. The cloister by Juan Guas from the earlier cathedral was moved here and added to the present building.
