Sepulveda is a picturesque village standing on a ridge in a dramatic setting above the River Duraton. From here are wonderful views of the Sierra de Guadarrama. Part of the medieval castle still remains, and the village has several ancient buildings. Standing high above the ruined castle is the Iglesia del Salvador, which is considered one of the best examples of Castilian Romanesque churches.
