The Sierra de Candelario is a mountain range of the Cordillera Central and it is a beautiful area with ridges, lakes, rivers and deep valleys. The mountains are covered with pastures and lower down are woods of chestnut, Pyrenean oak, alders and holm oak. The region is home to many birds of prey, wild boar and Iberian lynx. There are opportunities for walking, climbing and cycling. The town of Candelario contains much historical interest.
