The Sierra Nevada mountain range usually has skiing conditions from Decenber to April or even later. There are over eighty marked downhill runs ranging from very easy to very difficult. The highest runs start near the peak of Veleta, the second highest peak in the Sierra Nevada. Cable cars go up to over 2640 metres and other lifts will take you higher. There are also cross-country skiing routes and a snowboard area.
