St Stephen`s Monastery Church is known for its superb facade. Carved by Juan Antoni Ceroni in 1610, the centre panel depicts the Martyrdom of St Stephen and above it is a cavalry scene. Inside the single nave church is an ornate altarpiece by Jose Churriguera with a painting of the Stoning of St Stephen by Claudio Coello. The cloister with its beautiful inner courtyard is a mixture of Gothic and Renaissance styles.
