The Tenerife Anthropology Museum is housed in a beautiful country mansion that belonged to the Carta family. The building dates back to the 17th Century and has outstanding carved woodwork. There are several exhibition rooms with displays of furniture, farm tools, ceramics, weaving and needlework. Especially interesting are the exhibits of traditional Canarian costumes which range from the 18th Century to present times. These include everyday work clothes as well as wedding and festival garments.
