The Egg is a local landmark at the eastern end of San Antoni harbour. This eye-catching oval sculpture in the middle of a roundabout was erected in the 1990s in honour of Christopher Columbus. In it is a tiny, wooden caravel, modelled on the vessel in which Columbus sailed to the New World. The sculpture`s shape originates from the boast made by Columbus that he could make an egg stand upright.
