The Palacio de Mondragon dates from 1314 when it was built by the Abomelic ruler of Ronda. Much of this beautiful palace was altered soon after being taken by the Christians. Kings have stayed here and it has been the residence of governors. The building retains a Mudejar patio with ceramic tiles and plasterwork. There is a clifftop garden. Nowadays, the palace houses a local museum, with exhibitions about the history and natural habitats of the Ronda area.
