The Plaza de la Constitucion is in the heart of the old part of San Sebastian. This attractive, arcaded square was once a bullring and on the balconies are numbers from the time when they were sold as spectators` seats. When the French occupied the town in 1794 they placed a guillotine here. There are several bars and restaurants in the square and it is still the focus of many of the town`s events.
