The construction of Tortosa Cathedral began in the mid 14th Century but it took two hunded years to complete. The facade is in the Baroque style and dates from the 18th Century. The capitals are decorated with plant motifs. There are three naves with chapels and a 13th century cloister. The retable at the high altar has 14th Century paintings illustrating the life of Christ and the Virgin Mary. There are also two stone pulpits with beautiful carvings.
