The Villa Romana de Rio Verde has some well preserved mosaics, mainly in black and white, depicting culinary objects such as jugs and cooking utensils, as well as fish and birds. One splendid mosaic is of Medusa`s head with snakes around her neck and in her hair. Discovered in 1962, the villa dates from the the 1st or early 2nd Century and it probably consisted of five rooms with a central patio.
