The sumptuous Capilla del Salvador was built in the 16th Century for Francisco de los Cobos and his family crypt lies beneath the nave. The chapel was designed by architects Diego de Siloe, Andres de Vandelvira and Esteban Jamete. On the plateresque facade are carvings including the Transfiguration of Christ. The chapel was pillaged during the Civil War and some of the treasures were lost. Only the carving of Christ remains from the altarpiece by Alonso de Berruguete. The richly ornamented sacristy is by Vandelvira.
