The Church of San Miguel overlooks the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca and a niche in the church porch contains a statue of the White Virgin, the patron saint of the city. This Gothic church has a late 14th Century doorway and inside the church is a fine altarpiece by Gregorio Fernandez and an early Renaissance sepulchral arch. Outside, in the square,is a monument commemorating the Battle of Vitoria in June 1813.
