The Church of Santa Maria de los Reales Alcazares was built on the site of a former mosque. This large church dates from the 13th Century and has a fine facade. There is a lovely cloister with ribbed vaulting in what was the mosque`s ablutions courtyard. Much of the inside was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War, but it contains several chapels with sculptures and grilles, some of which are by Maestro Bartolome.
