Cueva de los Letreros

The Cueva de los Letreros is a cave with paintings from the Neolithic period. These date from about 4000 BC and, although they are faded, it is possible to distinguish humans and animals. These include the Indalo, a stick like figure, a symbol of Almeria which is said to ward off the evil eye. The cave is outside the village, in the direction of Velez Rubio, and visits can be arranged.
