The La Almameda Gardens are located on land reclaimed from the sea. Originally designed at the end of the 19th Century, this was the first public park in Vigo. Since then it has been redesigned and in the centre you will find a large fountain. Some of the trees are over one hundred years old. The animal sculptures of a swan, snail and hyena are by Jose Luis Medina whilst the sculptures of women, children and doves are the work of Camilo Nogueira.
