Mundaka is a fishing village with narrow streets and a large church. It is also known as a surfing village which claims to have the longest left break in the world. In windy conditions, and with high waves, a surfer can ride a wave to Laudi Beach on the opposite side of the estuary. There is also a passenger ferry to the white sand beach of Playa de Laudi.
