The Museo del Chocolate houses an exhibition of machinery, tools and other objects related to the history and production of chocolate. The making of chocolate began here in 1881 and the chocolate industry slowly expanded until in 1968 the Valor company were making 10,000 kilos of chocolate per day. A new plant opened in the 1990s. Unlike many chocolate manufacturers, Valor splits the cocoa beans at its factory instead of buying chocolate paste.
