This splendid, diocesan museum contains a rich collection of Catalan Romanesque and Gothic art. Sections are devoted to fabrics, textiles, leather, jewellery, ceramics and archaeology. On display are murals and 12th Century wooden sculptures. There are many impressive Gothic altarpieces, and Gothic religious paintings by Catalan artists, including work by Jaume Huguet. The museum was founded in the 1890s and since 2002 it has been housed in a new building.
