O Castro Park

The O Castro Park is located on a hill offering superb views over the bay. The first inhabitants of Vigo had their homes here and the remains of over forty dwellings from the 3rd and 4th centuries have been discovered. Some of them are still visible. A castle was also built here in medieval times. The park is now the location of the Monument to the Vigo Spirit. It is also a botanic garden with many varities of plants, including pines and cedars.
