The Salesas Reales Visitation Monastery was intended to be a monastery with a large church, hall and other buildings. However, only a small part of the complex was built. The structure is of granite. It was designed in the Galician medieval style by the architect Antonio Palacios in the 1940s. He designed several important buildings in nearby towns including the Votivo del Mar Church in Panjon.
