The Turia Gardens are located on the old riverbed of the River Turia. Because the Turia was constantly bursting its banks and flooding the city, it was decided in the mid 20th Century to divert the course of the river. The riverbed is now a long park with gardens, sports facilities, cycling paths and children`s playgrounds. In the Gulliver Park is a giant figure with slides. At one end of Turia Gardens is the futuristic complex of art and science museums.
