Standing on a ridge above the town, Xativia Castle consists of two fortresss built at different periods. The site has a long history and the older, lower castle is on a site occupied by the Romans, although most of its surviving walls were built by the Moors. The later upper castle is larger. There is a lovely, Gothic chapel as well as Arabic feaures. From the highest point are great views of the town and surrounding countryside.
